Kurzweil 1000 Version 13

Release 13.04 of Kurzweil 1000 for Windows Version 13 is now available. You may either download the executable file (https://www.kurzweiledu.com/downloads/K1000patch13.04.exe), or use the Online>Update feature of the software.

Release 13.04 is also available on a DVD, on which you will find the MicrosoftSpeech voices and Kurzweil 1000 Documentation Folder.

Notable changes in version 13.04 are:

• Support for Windows 8.1
• Add portable KES handling, via a library which can be shared between Kurzweil 1000, Kurzweil 3000 for both Windows and Macintosh, and Kurzweil 3000
• Fix unhandled exception in Online>Search for Books
• Fix unhandled exception in Show Image of PDF forms
• Fix various other bugs

• New setting to control extraction of bookmarks from PDF files
• New setting to control the recognition of bookmarks when using FineReader

• Fix 'Previous' and 'Next' word look-up
• Fix confusing message when opening certain types of files
• Fix Copy Page deleting text when used in a new document
• Fix stopped reading definitions if a pronounciation was requested

• Support for FineReader 10 and ScanSoft 18.
• With FineReader selected as the OCR engine, KOCRUtil now supports PDF as an output format.
• Document capture using the SCEye and HoverCam document cameras.
• Supports both input and output of EPUB documents.
• With FineReader selected as the OCR engine, Version 13 now automatically produces document bookmarks.
• Support for the Microsoft Speech Platform Runtime 11 voices.
