High Demand Drives New Hiring At Kurzweil Educational Systems

®, Inc., innovator of reading, writing and learning technology for individuals with visual or learning disabilities, welcomes two seasoned sales representatives to its U.S. sales staff. Mr. Jim Sullivan joins the company as Regional Manager covering Ohio and West Virginia and Ms. Adrienne Breen joins as Sales Representative covering Illinois and Indiana. Mr. Sullivan will be responsible for regional sales of both Kurzweil 3000, reading, writing and learning software for struggling students and Kurzweil 1000, scanning, reading and learning software for individuals with low vision or who are blind. Ms. Breen will be responsible for regional sales of Kurzweil 3000. Both individuals will also be charged with expanding into the
English Language Learners (ELL) market with Kurzweil 3000.
Mr. Sullivan brings over 11 years of experience working with assistive technologies (AT), most recently at Optelec U.S. Inc. as National Sales Manager for Quantum Products. Prior to that, Mr. Sullivan was at Pulse Data HumanWare (PDH) for five years where he specialized in the sale and implementation of Kurzweil 3000 and 1000 software serving those in K-12, higher education, and rehabilitation agencies as well as individuals. While working for PDH, Mr. Sullivan provided over 200 school districts and universities in Ohio with Kurzweil Educational Systems solutions to assist their struggling students. Mr. Sullivan holds a Masters of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University. He will be located in Ohio.
Most recently, as a representative for World Enterprises, an Illinois–based educational reseller, Ms. Breen successfully worked with schools and districts in Northern Illinois to deliver administrative as well as student software and materials. Prior to that, she served as Director of Retailing for Beckley–Cardy Company, a subsidiary of Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich, Inc., and founded and managed her own educational materials business. Ms. Breen started her career as a high school English and middle school Language Arts teacher. She earned her Master of Arts in English Education from Northwestern University and is a contributing author of the Power Basic Series (J. Weston Walch Co.), and Pre–GED Reading Skills for Social Studies and Science (Scott Foresman & Company). Ms. Breen will be located north of Chicago.
